Join us in Williamsburg for the Annual Statewide Legal Aid Conference (ASC)! Our theme is "Legal Aid Makes a Difference." The ASC is a three-day event that
provides comprehensive training on poverty law issues. This year’s conference will consist of at least 30 workshops on topics including child custody, unemployment compensation, technology tools, SSI, veteran’s benefits and mortgage foreclosures and many, many more. We have confirmed many outstanding speakers, including Professor Peter Edelman, of Georgetown University, on Thursday, Nov 5th @ 3:15!
Our keynote speaker this year is author, Janine Scott, Esq! Ms. Scott recently published the book, Legal Aid Wealth: Surviving & Thriving on the Salary of a Public Interest Attorney.
! Thanks to a grant from the Virginia Law Foundation, the registration fee is only $100! Click here for complete agenda. This conference has been approved by the VA State Bar for 12.5 Cle Credits (2.0 Ethics).
The Williamsburg area is a major conference hub, and is a part of America’s Historic
Triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown & Yorktown. This area includes fabulous theme
parks, arts, golf, fine dining, wineries and shopping. It’s museums display the area’s
rich heritage and culture.
